Welcome to the second episode of series 30. Everyone. There was a slight delay in today's release, because brains tend to fail us at times. And after getting assaulted by a giant bug on my bike ride last night, I forgot all about getting it taken care of. But we're here now and we're happy to have you here with us. Before we dive into quite the episode, where we finish our quest characters, we actually don't really have any announcements at all for you right now. Just remember, if you like what we are doing here, it would mean the world to us. If you could leave us a five star review on Apple podcasts pod chaser, or anywhere you get your podcasts and can leave reviews. Heck, in some places, you can even leave individual episode reviews if you'd like. All it takes us a little bit of time and really means the world to us and we'll Reading out on the air during this cold opens whenever we can record these together. For now though, sit back, relax and enjoy the wild ride that is part two of our quest character creation episode.

Ryan Boelter  1:48

On the last episode of Character Creation Cast, Kyle was creating a misty spy. Russ was creating a bita lead doctor. I was creating the tend to cleave wizard and Amelia was created a. Let me let me check my notes here. fairly normal Invoker work need to be picking up right where we left off last time. Enjoy. Alright, so we all have our looks effectively body face and vibe. What's next now

Russ Wilde  2:26

step three is show your style.

Kyle Allen  2:28

Yeah, I wear blank and blank and there's no specifications to these blanks. It's just fill them in with everyone. What are you wearing? And when moving with with blink?

Unknown Speaker  2:39

Yeah, huh?

Russ Wilde  2:41

I'm calling a flutter in Cape just right now.

Kyle Allen  2:44

That wasn't so great for my misty body though.

Russ Wilde  2:47

Sucks. I already have a name and a theme for this child and I love them

Kyle Allen  2:52

who have been boring fingerless gloves.

Russ Wilde  2:57

Wear your fingers

Kyle Allen  2:58

their finger lifts Also fingerless gloves.

Amelia Antrim  3:05

Oh, there's no way that I'm not picking a billowing jumpsuit.

Kyle Allen  3:10

Ooh, I love that I want to build a jumpsuit in real life.

Ryan Boelter  3:15

So I want to wear god. I'm also

Amelia Antrim  3:17

going to I'm going to say, also a shimmering cloak.

Ryan Boelter  3:20

Ah, antique eyeglasses sounds so amazing for my weird tentacle monstrosity.

Amelia Antrim  3:27

I love that for you.

Russ Wilde  3:30

I do love that they have a pattern for job as one of the options. Yeah, we can put that in there. We love that. antique eyeglasses. I'm going homemade earrings, which isn't on the list, but it combines two other

Ryan Boelter  3:44

ones. Yeah. So it's fine. I picture my character not really having visible eyes. So like they place the eyeglasses and random spots on their quote unquote head. I love it. Just to be quirky. What else do I

Kyle Allen  4:00

I'm making my own for this too. I'm doing a pendant filled with fireflies. Inspired by h o Hara the finale of repulse drag race season 10. That's a reference for the gays.

Ryan Boelter  4:18

Ah, I will go with runes and my hair as well. So my antique eyeglasses and runes in my hair, I'm going to put quotes around hair. because my hair is my quest. My hair is also tentacles. So you braid your tentacles. Sometimes they braid themselves. They like to cuddle. Yeah, they do. They're very gentle. Mm hmm. So I have three different sizes of tentacles, body tentacles, antenna, tentacles and hair tentacles.

Kyle Allen  4:49

Okay, and what do we move with? I'm gonna go with an effortless glide. See, that makes too much sense. For me. I'd like to do great difficulty

Russ Wilde  5:00

So I'm stout and tiny, so I have to run a really quick. Um, so I'm putting arms behind me.

Amelia Antrim  5:07

Oh, yeah, you got an arm around. You got it. I'm gonna get it. I can do this as a pop culture reference that I got Ryan, write that down.

Ryan Boelter  5:18

I move with music in my feet. So I'm constantly like, you know, moonwalking in my tentacles and, and, like, just kind of bopping around?

Unknown Speaker  5:28

I love it. I'm changing mine. Kyle's changing. I'm changing my joyful whistle. You're whistling

Russ Wilde  5:34

when you move before I stab you. That's cute.

Ryan Boelter  5:41

Russ Wilde  5:42

All right. Well, we gotta say, Russ. I was gonna say, has anyone named their character yet? I have no

Ryan Boelter  5:48

because I haven't gotten to know them four to name them yet.

Amelia Antrim  5:52

Yeah, always do that last Yeah, I can't die. So here's the thing. I'm in a in a foolish endeavor. I made a plan. podcasts about creating characters when I have no ability to name find it extremely stressful.

Kyle Allen  6:06

That's not foolish. That's self help.

Unknown Speaker  6:09

This is huge.

Russ Wilde  6:13

So I didn't name my character until we finished the look and then I was like I know their name but I'll save that until we get to be an amazing

Kyle Allen  6:20

okay all right, so next is call home. I'm from blank or my people are known for blank. Oh, I gotta go with a city in the middle. All right. I'm from a city in the myths because you are Miss or by the mist is just my it's just my people. Do you do you miss it?

Russ Wilde  6:38

I need to leave.

Ryan Boelter  6:43

Oh my god. Ah, place I can't name that's really interesting.

Russ Wilde  6:47

Where my people are known for sleeping. Oh, interesting. Not what I'm doing with

Ryan Boelter  6:54

I'm gonna go with either a C stead or a lonely island. Well, that band Go with a lonely island, or my people are known for

Kyle Allen  7:05

non hierarchical hire. I can't say this word hierarchical relationships and higher medical relationships. I'm gonna copy and paste that one in. So I've tried to spell it myself. So

Ryan Boelter  7:18

non hierarchical relationships, meaning everybody's kind of on the same level at that point,

Kyle Allen  7:23

there's no rulers. Um, yeah, social communism. That makes sense.

Russ Wilde  7:28

I live in a world with communism.

Kyle Allen  7:30

Never have that here. Respect me and respect your elders again. Hmm.

Amelia Antrim  7:35

So I picked a capital city known for creating historic works of art.

Unknown Speaker  7:41

Russ Wilde  7:42

I picked I'm from an underground borough, which I made up where my people are known for their neutral rationality.

Ryan Boelter  7:51

Oh, these are so good. Mm hmm. inventing the future.

Kyle Allen  7:56

You can just fill these in with your own stuff and just make it your just do what you want. The options they give you are really good they are, there's

Ryan Boelter  8:02

a lot of really good options in here. I'm gonna go with inventing the future because that sounds pretty sweet for like a wizard.

Russ Wilde  8:11

I also like just the simplicity of treating strangers with love. Yeah. Like, it's so simple, but it's so soft.

Ryan Boelter  8:19

It's really interesting when you think about that, too, because if they're known for that, that might not be the norm in this world at that point.

Russ Wilde  8:29

But you're right informs the rest of the world. Exactly. Especially what some of these some of these are, like losing a great war, resisting a brutal ruling order. Restoring justice to the lamb. Yeah, like there's a lot of different ways that this could influence the world, one child will clean a vast empire. Hmm, that that one's very loaded.

Kyle Allen  8:52

Goodness. So the next step is believe in something. You choose an ideal that guides your behavior. Is your moral core the belief that will help you know what your character might do in lots of situations? So it's also choose your choose one or make your own. So I believe in blank

Russ Wilde  9:11

if I right I believe in it, I just making Naruto at that point. Gosh,

Unknown Speaker  9:17

please don't make no

Ryan Boelter  9:22

goodness, Monday pragmatism, I believe in pragmatism, you valued logic and efficiency above other concern. It would be irrational to fight we should negotiate. I really like how these are laid out on the gift kind of a quote of what that person that follows that sense of belief would kind of say, which is cool, like heroism is courage is everything always take charge, all that sort of stuff, and it's, it's laid out really nicely. I'm not

Amelia Antrim  9:51

sure any of these feel right, but I can't think of what does.

Russ Wilde  9:54

What are you trying to do for your character? Why did they leave home is a good question. Hmm. If they believe that Something that their home couldn't give them.

Kyle Allen  10:02

Capital City with all your artwork.

Russ Wilde  10:04

I hated art. It was ugly.

Amelia Antrim  10:07

Not a good painter.

Russ Wilde  10:11

So for myself, I come from a city of neutrality and I believe in morality. Hmm. So my city was to neutral on things. And there is a right and wrong, I will be hate moderates. If I add a single letter becomes mortality, then I'm playing a very different character. Which there are abilities in this game that changed your flaws, ideals, and that kind of thing. Very interesting. All right, I'm going to go

Ryan Boelter  10:44

with pleasure for my person. I'm going to say you see comfort and joy and believe people should enjoy being alive. Just why they dance all the time.

Amelia Antrim  10:55

I'm gonna go with heroism,

Kyle Allen  10:57

heroism because you don't stand idly by When someone's in danger, courage, everything always take charge. However Invoker of you is very good. So the next thing after we do our beliefs is so the full sentence is, I believe in blank, but my blank side can get in my way, and you choose your vulnerability. I think I'm gonna go with my wrathful side.

Russ Wilde  11:23

We have some wrathful mist over here. Here's in the movie, the Miss

Unknown Speaker  11:29

Stephen King was nine.

Ryan Boelter  11:31

I'm going to go oblivious, but my oblivious side can get in the way. You often don't see what's right in front of you, even if it has feigned. And I love the No.

Russ Wilde  11:44

I'm going idiot. Put my idiot slide and the quote is great, because the quote is, ooh, what does this big red button do?

Ryan Boelter  11:55

Everyone thinks that's a dumb idea. That's exactly why you do it. I go that route. lists are vain. I'm gonna go with reckless.

Russ Wilde  12:03

Oh my god, I love the quote for now.

Amelia Antrim  12:06

Wow, that's a lot of tigers. Time to go pet the big kitty.

Ryan Boelter  12:11

That's amazing. Awesome. So I believe in pleasure but my oblivia side can get in my way. Looks like there's one more thing left then a few more things for the for the paragraph sentence.

Russ Wilde  12:23

Yes paragraph one more. Okay. And that is dream big. I dream of blank. And there's a lot of them. Some of the most interesting ones meeting the Grim Reaper meeting my god za killing my past. Becoming a notorious gambler. There's a lot of interesting ones here.

Kyle Allen  12:47

Who Amelia they're recovering a stolen artifact might people look like your kind of person?

Ryan Boelter  12:52

Oh, yeah, I like that. Maybe my parents for the first time that's interesting.

Russ Wilde  12:56

For only I could spell that would be great, everybody.

Unknown Speaker  12:59

I'm gonna go with traveling to the stars. I was just

Ryan Boelter  13:03

about to take that one. Take it take

Kyle Allen  13:05

I think that's right. I

Unknown Speaker  13:08

just fly up now yours yours is cooler traveling to the stars. I can't go there there's no atmosphere.

Unknown Speaker  13:15

There's nothing to hold me together

Ryan Boelter  13:19

making every stranger smile. I think I'll go with that when

Russ Wilde  13:22

you run up to a stranger smile.

Unknown Speaker  13:25

Unknown Speaker  13:27

flawless tactic.

Russ Wilde  13:30

Ross What did you go with? I went with inspiring my convincing my people to care about the world. Care, please,

Unknown Speaker  13:39

please, the environment dying.

Russ Wilde  13:42

Stop being neutral. Your modernism is killing things.

Ryan Boelter  13:48

You can make your own stuff up in here too, right? Mm hmm. Ah, okay.

Kyle Allen  13:55

So the last thing is gearing up. I'm going to change my

Ryan Boelter  13:58

mac and cheese Dream. Oh wait, sorry. What's your dream going to make something up? I'm going back to the future.

Kyle Allen  14:07

Love that. All right now we're gonna name and stuff. We're gonna gear

Ryan Boelter  14:13

up chopper nazer Oh, what do you want? You can do gear we've been doing so

Russ Wilde  14:17

the eighth gear, okay, and what you do for gear, it says you pick three common weapons and one useful item. So pretty simple three most common weapons deal to damage if you're unarmed you deal damage.

Ryan Boelter  14:33

Okay, so common weapons, I get all the like normal a medieval fantasy trophy type ancient weaponry right? I'm assuming with the amount of malleability that this game has already that we could probably invent kind of a weapon.

Unknown Speaker  14:54

Totally. Okay,

Ryan Boelter  14:56

so one my characters got a whip just because Cuz it's like a tentacle. Um, two would be kind of like a, kind of like a whip where the the tip is a projectile. So like you, you it's like a whip sling, I guess, huh? Um, that's what, I like that. Okay, so I'm gonna whip a whistling and I don't know what else for the third thing,

Russ Wilde  15:23

cuz the other option is a sip. I don't think that really works.

Unknown Speaker  15:29

I slip

Ryan Boelter  15:33

I like aliquip lean better. Alright, so I gotta write these down, right?

Russ Wilde  15:37

Yeah, you're here. And what it says about range weapons is if you choose a range weapon like a bow or crossbow, you must also use one of your item slots for ammunition. You don't need to keep track of how much ammunition you have. But you might run out if you lose equipment. Or if like you have a really bad role on something you might lose your quiver, that kind of thing.

Ryan Boelter  15:58

And you also get one useful Mm hmm. Just Just try to think of the another ridiculous tentacle themed weapon.

Kyle Allen  16:06

I'm taking the friend flute from the from the useful items. Oh, this is a small magic whistle that knows who your friends are. When you blow in the whistle only your friends nearby can hear it sound

Unknown Speaker  16:19

Russ Wilde  16:21

So my three weapons I have taken a scalpel, reflex hammer and a stethoscope.

Unknown Speaker  16:29

I love it. Let's go to full doctor

Unknown Speaker  16:32

full doctor.

Ryan Boelter  16:33

I like that I just put on with bullets as an inventory item.

Russ Wilde  16:41

You want to know how he's set the scope. I just hold it over my head and spin it.

Amelia Antrim  16:48

I picked a sword a knife and brass knuckles

Unknown Speaker  16:51

valid. I'm gonna say

Ryan Boelter  16:55

those weapons. They're like a thriller nunchucks but they're like way bigger. There's like usually a chain between like two bigger sticks. I guess some sort I don't remember. I don't remember what you mean, but I don't. I'm gonna say that but instead of a chain it's like a tentacle, of course. So it's just like kind of this wiggly looking stick but then I can like make it all like a rigid bow, like a bow staff. So I could do some was that was that guy from Little john? Little john Bow Bow wielding from Robin Hood?

Kyle Allen  17:31

Sure. Yes, totally. Deaf You're so right.

Unknown Speaker  17:37

Reference I just knocked

Russ Wilde  17:38

over my head. Okay, their heads totally hit us. For my mat. My useful item I'm going with a magic flask, a magic class that automatically replenishes itself with the juice of your choice. I'm going apple juice.

Kyle Allen  17:58

I love it from my office. Weapons I chose a jar of arsenic, jar of cyanide and a jar of ghost pepper oil. These are mines

Amelia Antrim  18:09

for my useful item. I put a set of spices that make anything edible.

Kyle Allen  18:14

Ooh, nice. Like Give me the edible. I don't know rock, rock.

Russ Wilde  18:21

You can eat your fork. Eat those utensils Leave No Trace behind.

Ryan Boelter  18:26

Gosh, there's a lot of good stuff here. Mmm hmm. Let me go with a magic candle.

Russ Wilde  18:32

Also the spices that is an Amelia original. I love it. If you want it to pay for it you

Ryan Boelter  18:43

better get the itch page up before this episode goes out.

Unknown Speaker  18:46

Oh yeah.

Russ Wilde  18:47

Awesome. Item spice pouch spice pouch. Yeah,

Amelia Antrim  18:49

like no description.

Kyle Allen  18:52

I got a PDF download.

Russ Wilde  18:56

So Microsoft paid like a pound

Ryan Boelter  19:01

If only, okay, so a HP is 10 cuz it's always 10. ap starts out as 10 because it starts started soon. But now we need a name. possibly an alias how old

Kyle Allen  19:14

that's the parentheses is pronouns.

Ryan Boelter  19:17

Oh, fun. Okay, cool.

Kyle Allen  19:19

I have named my person and filled that out already because I found a great choice. So I can just read mine in its entirety now and we can do like a full picture.

Ryan Boelter  19:28

Whoo. Whoo. Let me figure out a name first.

Amelia Antrim  19:31

I have to do age and how tall I am.

Kyle Allen  19:33

Yeah, or you can just do it. I didn't at all.

Unknown Speaker  19:37

I did. I'm really bad at last name. How tall

Ryan Boelter  19:41

would you measure from if you're all tentacles, and you can vary your height. I mean,

Kyle Allen  19:48

it could. You could have a boy. You could do like a range. I am three to eight feet tall. Yeah,

Russ Wilde  19:55

when he's three feet tall, his density increases.

Amelia Antrim  19:59

I'm gonna get rid of Like, age and height here.

Russ Wilde  20:02

I am internet age and internet height. I am the world breaker.

Amelia Antrim  20:09

I'm 31 I'm five six.

Ryan Boelter  20:17

Okay, that would be too confusing with a doctor in the in the party.

Kyle Allen  20:21

Are you gonna say your name is like Doctor something I've done before. I play in an urban shadows game, and I play a Spectre named Hunter, which is not confusing at all when there's a playbook called the hunter.

Ryan Boelter  20:36

So I'm basically kind of setting the tone for naming standards of my my people.

Unknown Speaker  20:45

Yeah, totally. That's why I did do it's a it's a great naming standard.

Russ Wilde  20:51

I accidentally wrote wizard because I heard you say wizard so many times that I wrote it. It was anybody ready to present Yeah, I think what what are you waiting for? I want to be done. No waiting is for people who have patience.

Kyle Allen  21:06

You have patience as a doctor.

Unknown Speaker  21:09

Ah, a

Ryan Boelter  21:11

better than belvane reliever not to pronounce this name Paul figuring out

Amelia Antrim  21:17

follow your heart is gonna

Unknown Speaker  21:18

start starting. I got

Ryan Boelter  21:21

no I have to have a nickname because otherwise it would be a nightmare to play with. Okay, I'm ready. I'm ready. Okay, cool save it was close we almost didn't make it. Who wants to go first?

Amelia Antrim  21:34

Kyle Do you want to go first? I feel I'll do it

Unknown Speaker  21:36

I've been waiting about I didn't want to be the person that goes so

Amelia Antrim  21:39

Kyle Allen  21:40

Okay, hi, my name is juice by lizzo my pronouns are made men mayor. I'm question mark years old and I stand question mark tall. I'm the party spy. When people see me they first notice my body of mist romantic eyes on an air of mystery. I wear fingerless gloves upended filled with fire. flies and move to the joyful whistle. I'm from a city in the midst where my people are known for non higher hierarchical relationships. I believe in pragmatism but my wrathful side get in my way. I dream of traveling to the stars. I carry friend flute, a jar or stick a jar of cyanide and a jar of ghost pepper, oil, juice pilot juice. So

Unknown Speaker  22:23

I love that

Russ Wilde  22:24

tire name so much. No shortening it to juice or lizzo

Unknown Speaker  22:28

or by it's just mere first name. There's no middle name or last name. It's just that

Russ Wilde  22:35

it's all just, it's all just a posture feed for us, do you want to read us yours? Sure. Hi, my name is teen beetle, baby. I'm 14 years old and stand two feet four inches tall. I'm the party's doctor. When people see me they first noticed my stout stature, antenna and androgynous above I wear fluttering cape, homemade exoskeleton earrings and move with my arms behind me. I'm from an underground borough whereby people are known for their neutral rationality. I believe in morality, but my idiot side can get in my way. I dream of convincing my people to care about the world. And I carry a scalpel, a stethoscope, a reflex hammer and a magic flask

Unknown Speaker  23:26

full of orange juice. Amazing.

Unknown Speaker  23:29

Unknown Speaker  23:32

Its team beetle.

Kyle Allen  23:35

Totally nerd around.

Unknown Speaker  23:37

Russ Wilde  23:41

That's the fastest way to move.

Amelia Antrim  23:44

No, that's just science. All right, Ryan, do you want to go or do you want me to go?

Ryan Boelter  23:49

You can go first.

Amelia Antrim  23:51

Okay, hello, my name is Imogen merit. She her pronouns. I'm 31 years old and I stand, five foot six inches. I'm the party's Invoker when people see me they first notice my iridescent skin, severe jawline and captivating grin. I wear a billowing jumpsuit and shimmering cloak and move with an effortless glide. I'm from a capital city where my people are known for creating historic works of art. I believe in heroism, but my reckless side can get in my way. I dream of recovering a stolen artifact for my people. I carry a sword and knife brass knuckles and instead of spices that make anything edible,

Unknown Speaker  24:31

the only real person and the

Amelia Antrim  24:34

only person that took this seriously, I didn't even make a Nikkor

Ryan Boelter  24:37

I took my seriously

Russ Wilde  24:39

I took it seriously. I'm just paying an anthropomorphic beetle man.

Ryan Boelter  24:43

Yeah, beetle boy and I'm just a mess of tentacles. It's fine.

Unknown Speaker  24:46

And juice by lizzo is a chart topping number. take it seriously.

Ryan Boelter  24:52

What a world. Aha. All right. So I guess I'll go. Everybody else kind of did a character voice so I'll see what I can do. Hi, my name is Flo more or you can call me Phil. They them pronouns. I'm 3142 years old and stand 4.1 to 9.6 tentacles tall. I'm the wizards party. I'm the party's wizard.

Amelia Antrim  25:19

Okay Hello stuff.

Ryan Boelter  25:23

People see me they first noticed my head of tentacles, vestigial antenna and gentle disposition. I wear antique eyeglasses, runes in my hair, and move with music in my feet. I'm from a lonely island where my people are known for inventing the future. I believe in pleasure, but my oblivious side can get in my way. I dream of going back to the future. And I like whips.

Russ Wilde  25:57

Wow. Now what needs to happen? That film needs to find with my hair back and forth from

Unknown Speaker  26:05

my Liz's village

Kyle Allen  26:07

so that can be the music in their feet.

Amelia Antrim  26:13

Wow, incredible.

Russ Wilde  26:15

I think we've made some really powerful characters except we're technically not.

Amelia Antrim  26:21

Ryan Boelter  26:24

I love this so much. Okay,

Russ Wilde  26:25

so what's next? Now we pick our abilities and ability catalogs. We each pick six abilities. in any order you cannot pick legendary abilities legendary abilities are decided when and how you get it by the guide. But everything else has free rein from your own stuffs. flip this over

Amelia Antrim  26:48

and write this on the back of this page because there's no spot for it.

Russ Wilde  26:51

Because you're supposed to have the cards.

Kyle Allen  26:54

Yeah, that is one critique. I'll give them give us a sponsor write it in regardless, I agree because like in between sets If you don't like keep the cards like and like a paperclip, you're gonna lose them and forget Uh huh. TC I hope you're listening to this and taking my criticism.

Russ Wilde  27:09

Just email TC. Hello, TC.

Ryan Boelter  27:12

I will hitc I hope you're listening my criticism. I really love your game so far. I can't wait to play it sometime.

Unknown Speaker  27:19

Oh, yeah, we're not actually playing it. No,

Ryan Boelter  27:20

we are actually absolutely not playing this game.

Kyle Allen  27:23

Everything except play.

Ryan Boelter  27:25

As I like to say character creation is a form of playing the game so fair. Yeah. We are technically playing the game without actually playing the game. Oh, there's a Pegasus cloak. That sounds pretty cool.

Russ Wilde  27:40

I can make people fly spicy.

Ryan Boelter  27:42

They only hover a meter above the ground but that's still pretty cool, huh?

Kyle Allen  27:47

I already got it. I don't know. I'm done.

Ryan Boelter  27:48

Wow. I'm glad I chose wizard. This is cool. What

Russ Wilde  27:56

the rest of us are like basically completely silent.

Ryan Boelter  28:01

I'm sorry, I'm blown away. I didn't get this far in my in my pre read of the rules. One of the things I could choose is an ability called No. By uttering the word No, you attempt to neutralize a spell that you see an ABC cast.

Unknown Speaker  28:18

No, no. Wow,

Amelia Antrim  28:21

I'm really tempted to pick this one just because it says that you become cursed.

Kyle Allen  28:27

I mean, this is the closest you're gonna get to a necromancer now.

Ryan Boelter  28:31

I'm obsessed with these abilities. How can you choose?

Unknown Speaker  28:34

Well, you better hit all right.

Ryan Boelter  28:37

Ah, all right, I've got mine. Reduced six right.

Amelia Antrim  28:42

Now if I need one more, I counted wrong.

Unknown Speaker  28:46

This is why we can't have math anymore. No more math in games.

Russ Wilde  28:49

Even counting is too hard for us now to be

Ryan Boelter  28:52

able to tell apart in a way though, if I do, I can't make mobile fly. decisions. Okay. All right. Before I pick this, is there a way to get more abilities like through advancement? Yeah, advanced that you get more bang. Okay, cool. That's all I need to know for now cuz we'll cover that later. Um, all right, then I think I think I got it.

Kyle Allen  29:17

So I'm not going first this time.

Unknown Speaker  29:18

Okay, not doing all right, I've got mine. Let's go reverse order them. All right, Ryan. So Phil

Ryan Boelter  29:26

is doing all of the abilities in plane shifting, which gives them blink. So I can teleport to a location of your choice nearby, basically vanish and leave behind a gentle dust gust of wind and instantly reappeared nearby. That's pretty cool. Gate. This one's pretty sweet. Ah, you bind yourself to a room that you're in. And then later on, I can snap my fingers or I guess my tentacles in this case. man made me willing party members nearby are instantly teleported to the circle but portal, which works like the video game portal, if you're familiar with that, where you create a portal in one space, and then if

Amelia Antrim  30:09

you're not familiar with that it does still work. Yeah,

Ryan Boelter  30:11

it still works the same way. So you create a portal somewhere and then you create another portal and then those two portals are linked and and you can just pass through them. That's pretty cool. Um, dark door, you knock on the door, making it a temporary portal to a specific shadow plane. And then when you open the door you go and set the plane which is pretty sweet. And then this one is just phenomenal teleport, snap your fingers, you and any willing creatures nearby vanish instantly, leaving behind a small Shockwave air in your wake and are teleported to any place you choose. And then you have to roll a D 20 to figure out how you get there. And I don't some of the some of them are bad. Just Rolo there, okay, so I got all of those and then I'm also going to take familiar from the conjuration path and then that lets me summit a tiny spectral creature. I'm going to say it's like indigenous to to my island home, there is a type of bird that is actually a series of feathery tentacles that it uses to flap around and hover through the air. So it is basically just a tend to have a bird bird Yeah, I guess. I don't know. I

Russ Wilde  31:42

knew where that was going when you said bird.

Ryan Boelter  31:46

But all the technicals are feathery. So they're like not suction cup. Solder. It's like those. It's like those weird starfish or one of those. There's like we know you're only in the air. Like it the furry starfish

Unknown Speaker  32:02

Ryan Boelter  32:05

Ah, but it's cool it has for HP it's invulnerable to non magical harm. And if it gets reduced to zero HP it vanishes and your bond is broken and then you can summon another one later I guess. Yeah, but that's pretty sweet. That's fun. Yeah. Oh, since they won't necessarily like their new employer when you summon them so the guy gets to choose the creatures background personality and speaks for them. It's interesting. Okay, you're familiar with Hey,

Unknown Speaker  32:29

do I know

Ryan Boelter  32:31

why did you take me away from my beautiful island home?

Unknown Speaker  32:34

Why did you take me away from my wife?

Ryan Boelter  32:38

Stop making me feel bad monster I will help you but I'm gonna make you feel guilty every step of the way.

Russ Wilde  32:46

To me, I'll make you feel like crap. No, your juice by Liz. Oh.

Ryan Boelter  32:56

Alright, so that's all six of mine. Yeah.

Amelia Antrim  32:59

Cool. My turn I did not do what you did I just like picked from all over the place. So from the invocation tree I picked declare once per scene you may declare a reason for intervening in a matter of stealing your resolve then I picked from the inquiries table soul gaze your your eyes turn blacklick shimmering gateways to eternity as you peer into the eyes of a nearby creature they become momentarily transfixed on your gaze. And then you can roll to see what happens. Ideally, you learn the creatures ideal and flaw. They can also just resist it and they can view your thoughts

Ryan Boelter  33:42

which I love the the additional on the 20 you also learn the worst and best thing they have ever done. That's super interesting.

Unknown Speaker  33:49

No pressure. Yeah. All right.

Russ Wilde  33:53

Right, tell me the worst and best thing we've ever done now.

Amelia Antrim  33:58

Yeah, I don't envy the guide. And that's it. Know that like, Oh, I want to know all these things. I don't know that come. From the vertix table I picked inspire you inspire a nearby NPC by reciting a meaningful statement to them. You may invent a famous quote or proverb or borrow one from the real world. The creature must be able to hear and understand you and cannot currently be hostile toward you. And I picked compelled truth, your eyes glow like blue flames as you look into the eyes of a nearby creature and grip their mind. Hopefully the target is compelled to answer your questions truthfully for the next five minutes, but also it could backfire and they may compel you to answer questions instead. And from the wrath tree I picked fiery Avenger you speak a word of power igniting your weapon in a magical flame of any color. Because if you can have a magical sword why would you not pick that? And then I picked thunders word. You speak over to power releasing a thunderous Shockwave in the direction you are facing. The wave knocks out knocks up to three creatures backward and hits the meat for two damage that's pretty sweet.

Russ Wilde  35:05

Yeah, who so that's my go. So I also picked a bunch from all over the place so from healing I took mend which restores five HP does not remove impairments heal permanent moons or cure disease and cannot be used during combat from alteration I took sleep you whisper reflow by putting commoners to sleep for one hour. And you have the say a lullaby at the table. You spend extra AP you can put minions to sleep which is a type of enemies slash higher level NPC. I then took death sense from necromancy. You naturally sense whether any remnants of the dead are nearby but not positions the guide will notify you when the sensor is triggered and then you can spend extra AP for specific abilities that help you find dead creatures once that's been triggered, I then took corrupt from the harm play from the harm learning path, you grip on organic creature and create a necrotizing wound it deals one damage immediately and another one damage at the beginning of their next turn. Affected creatures can only recover these head points with the Restore spell, which is on the healing playbook. And is the final ability in that. Wow. Yep. Gonna have to find an NPC who knows restore. And then in perception I took modulate you alter the nature and intensity of nearby creatures physical sensations for up to one hour, choose one effect. So the things you can do is temperature, nourishment or comfort so you can make them feel too hot or too cold or totally fine. You can make them feel better. Very very hungry or totally fine or you can comfort you can make them feel very comfortable or that they can't find comfort however they arrange their body. Which fun. Yeah, and that's those are my six waiting I'm missing one. My one Aha, the one that I'm missing is from alteration which was the sleep one. It's called calcified. You touch a creature within range causing it surface to swell and harden during this time they feel numb to external pain. The hardened shell absorbs up to two HP from physical hits, and the excess damage. any damage in excess of two HP hits the creature normally the creature skin returns to normal after one minute. So what I like to think is that teen beetle causes you to grow an exoskeleton temporarily. That's pretty likely.

Kyle Allen  37:51

The the what how that gameplay goes that like the flavor texts of causing you to swell and harden kind of off but

Ryan Boelter  38:00

Yeah, I mean, my bite is falling hard it's it sounds really like like it starts sounding like oh this is gonna be an attack this is something bad that's gonna happen to an enemy But no, it's it's actually like it's armed in armor. I make you grow an exoskeleton I want like tentacle exoskeleton that sounds pretty sweet. No,

Kyle Allen  38:18

I want my mistakes
