Amelia Antrim  0:01

Welcome to the second episode of RM bound series everyone. This episode we finishing up our character creation and our world creation with grant Howard and Chris Taylor. But before we get to the episode, we have a few announcements as usual,

Ryan Boelter  0:17

as usual. First up if you missed last Friday's episode of keeping blade, the Camaro campaign run by my design partner amor, on the utopia channel, you miss some really great role playing by their players. They are a couple sessions in and we already saw some really fun camera moves triggered, I was very excited to see that you can check them out at Cape and blade.com era games, then turn your twitch channels over to my personal channel this coming Friday, November 13. For the very first session of my A Tale of twinkling all campaign where we are blending magical girls, superhero and fantasy genres all together to tell a solar punk story where our heroes are a this is delightful, a shape shifting alien from another world who came through a portal and was time dilated for about 20 some odd years in the portal, who only experienced it a second. I'm an orphan whose focus grants them extraordinary powers. But the focus when it was activated, may have killed their parents on accident. Or disappeared them. Yeah, we don't know. All we know is that the the portal in in question, kind of did it and nobody knows. So that's that's spicy. We also have a feathered dinosaur person that is ready to protect anyone in multitalented superstar diva who moonlights as a superhero, and a warrior trained from birth to wield incredible power. So it's a it's it's really fun. I'm really excited for this. And I would love it if you would join me at 7:30pm Central time at twitch that time era that games.

Amelia Antrim  2:09

Secondly, we are on the lookout for an artist for a new shirt idea or two. We have a couple thoughts on the direction that we want to go. We've been like hemming and hawing about this for forever. And we're finally like, we shouldn't do this. But we are a little overwhelmed by the number of choices.

Ryan Boelter  2:30

Yeah,

Amelia Antrim  2:30

every time I try and find an artist, I'm like, oh, there's, there's so many good ones. I don't know where to start. And then I have analysis paralysis. Let me shut down. We would love to commission a fan of the show. If your style kind of fits what we are picturing. This is a paid thing. We do want to actually like commissioned somebody, feel free to reach out to us on Twitter, or on our website at contact Character Creation. cast.com. Or you can email us Character Creation. cast@gmail.com. And we will be in touch. Yeah,

Ryan Boelter  3:03

absolutely. And then the design for the T shirt will go up on the one shot and work store on T public I believe. So it should be should be a good time. Yeah. Yeah. Finally, we hope you are enjoying the latest series. So it feels kind of surreal, actually, that this is the second to last series of 2020. Yeah, it's it's been like 10 years since we started 2020. But here we are. 2020

Amelia Antrim  3:31

is like an eternal Tuesday. It really is.

Unknown Speaker  3:37

It's always Tuesday.

Ryan Boelter  3:39

Yeah, so we're actually setting up to record the next series. But if you know of any fun, unique games coming out in January to March timeframe, or any individuals that we can feature on the show, just definitely point them our way. We're especially looking for diverse voices, and people from marginalized communities to feature Yeah, so definitely let them know and we'd be happy to have a conversation with them to see if they're interested.

Amelia Antrim  4:11

That should be everything for our announcements. We'll be back again after the show with our call to action, but in the meantime, let's get on to our character and wealth creation.

Ryan Boelter  4:23

Enjoy

Ryan Boelter  4:57

the last episode of character creation Cast, Chris was creating a brawler, Emilio was creating a striker. And I was creating a protector. While grant was overseeing everything, and recreating his decision not to create a fun character with us. In this great CRT punk world that we are creating together, we're picking up right where we left off last time. Enjoy.

Grant Howitt  5:29

I will say as well. One of the things about characters in making an unbound, everyone can fight everyone's competent, everyone can handle themselves. So you can be as daft as wacky as you like, I'd encourage you to try and keep it vaguely sensible and then you can get wacky that as we build but you can at the very least fight in whatever terms we determine fighting it. So maybe you have a gang who fights for you have people who are who are your friends, so you've rescued from crime, you know, that sort of thing. But keep that in mind as we go through it. So yes, vandalizing property image and aiding and abetting. So Chris, you are a brutal Yeah,

Chris Taylor  6:10

I want to be a brawler vandal a list with a leg loads odds.

Grant Howitt  6:15

So what do you take out your adversaries

Chris Taylor  6:18

a crowbar is broken? Not a particular color? No, no, depends what I'm painting.

Grant Howitt  6:27

How do you avoid damage

Chris Taylor  6:29

by being fairly fleet of foot and I'm seeing him as being fairly dodgy as a character

Grant Howitt  6:36

try and put forward as well stems?

Unknown Speaker  6:38

Yes, you

Grant Howitt  6:38

can you have pain rather than damage.

Chris Taylor  6:41

How do you avoid damage? I'm wired

Unknown Speaker  6:46

that's Yes,

Chris Taylor  6:48

they just don't act. He's constantly like like I'm imagining him as an actual career criminal. Hmm not as a particularly like heroic character

Grant Howitt  6:59

that under vandalism is what he does for fun to realize Yes.

Chris Taylor  7:02

Yeah. Like he does I think like the way he earns a living is petty jobs. Like if you need a shop turned over somebody threatened he'll do that

Grant Howitt  7:11

must

Chris Taylor  7:12

Yeah, so other sort of his his passion his art and he's terrible at

Ryan Boelter  7:16

it. Oh,

Chris Taylor  7:18

that's the start his paintings are very big. I'm like it's scale rather than talent he's operating our fonder to and he'll just like he saw personally walking through one of the engine rooms doesn't know what it does. But he'll just drop a rock in the cogs and the wires just because it breaks something

Grant Howitt  7:37

nice. Okay. That should be a very easy characters current motivations for exactly Chris abusively cool and what did you learn to fight like this? From

Unknown Speaker  7:48

Alfie from

Ryan Boelter  7:50

Oh man.

Chris Taylor  7:51

I think I think I was abandoned as a child

Chris Taylor  8:00

nice for a while I raised my so like as the I'm the only human bar staff there has ever been. Oh there Yeah. For a while. It was flooding my feet now I you know, run a protection racket. Is Alfie.

Grant Howitt  8:15

The one person who you won't screw over the one person you won't steal? Mainly because he can feel it when you?

Chris Taylor  8:22

Yes. Literally, like trying to steal your father's fingers. Like they're gonna know that

Grant Howitt  8:27

item in pocket. Okay, cool. I like that. I've got a bit of pretty solid guy concept of who he is.

Ryan Boelter  8:36

Ryan, all right. protector. Yes.

Grant Howitt  8:40

So your proficiencies our defense and strike or shoot our strike or shoot. Okay,

Ryan Boelter  8:46

I'm gonna go with us. Okay, and those are kind of open to interpretation, right? Oh, absolutely.

Grant Howitt  8:55

Yeah, absolutely. So Stryker means damaged something in the area and shoot me is damaged something and anything up to areas away. Okay. Your strikes can be can be guns, and your shoots can be you sending forward eight dogs.

Ryan Boelter  9:09

Yeah. Okay, I'm gonna go we're gonna go with strike. Okay, yeah, that works. Tell us a little bit about your about your concept. Okay, so, um, I think I'm gonna lean into my nonsense. Okay. Yeah. Um, so this character is a classical, magical girl who is a normal person and has the ability to transform into a magical sky pirate.

Grant Howitt  9:51

I just I felt I felt a seismic a tectonic shift as the campaign is over here. No. This is Now it just became the bishamon love interest Yes.

Unknown Speaker  10:05

Oh.

Grant Howitt  10:08

Scary to go whoa handsome.

Chris Taylor  10:11

Oh, but still but still definitely like like covered in plasters and tussle. Yeah, yes. Yeah,

Grant Howitt  10:17

yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like it's like scrap. Yeah, certainly not clean cut at all.

Amelia Antrim  10:22

My choice to have a sword feel a little bit better at least Oh

Grant Howitt  10:26

yeah. Okay, so you can turn into a magical girl I like to have like just just like one or two sentences right? real quick. Why? Sorry? No Why I know why.

Ryan Boelter  10:42

Okay, so how does how does this character turn into a magical girl sky pirate? Um, there is um, like a an extraordinarily rare substance that every now and then gets obtained from the toxic goo down below which causes like a almost magical a rapid autism transformation type thing right that you can you can unlock

Amelia Antrim  11:12

your outfit. Yeah,

Ryan Boelter  11:14

yeah, cuz nonsense, right? And yeah, and basically you can you can control it to unlock or lock it. Well, maybe not all the time. Maybe it's not 100%

Chris Taylor  11:30

Can I can I try and add something to that potentially? Oh, please. So like I imagine it in my head is like coming in one of those gas injector syringes? Like like, yeah, like you, you press it. And it's like, it's like a hallucinogen. That's actually real. like everybody's seeing it. And that's what you that like, is that you're just like, projecting your dream self over yourself and becoming that

Grant Howitt  11:55

person. Hmm. So it wouldn't show up on camera.

Chris Taylor  11:59

No, it could show up on camera. Like it's a real thing, right? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Like this is this is a magic liquid.

Grant Howitt  12:05

If you find a Leviathan that's dreaming, you can siphon off his dreams. And so you're like, you're injecting whale nightmares. And it turns you into itself and you transform and I

Amelia Antrim  12:20

was really wondering how we're gonna get there, but we got there. I am proud of us.

Grant Howitt  12:27

I'm bound. Wow. So what do you use to take out your adversaries?

Ryan Boelter  12:33

Um, so what do you take out? used to take on my adversaries? Um, I have

Grant Howitt  12:38

the Kombi friendship has to be a weapon. No, I

Ryan Boelter  12:40

know. Um, gosh, what's a

Amelia Antrim  12:44

it's a big stick named friendship.

Grant Howitt  12:49

Okay, because because unbound works, it's got separate rules for dramatic and combat scenes. If you want something which only happens as part of your transformation fight or flight life, you won't say like a pet

Ryan Boelter  13:04

that Yeah, I want I want it to be I have to be transformed to be effective in combat. And I want it to be like, pirate apparel based. So I could I could throw my hat like a like a frisbee or like my, my poofy scarf can unravel and like a chain hit people and stuff like that. Yes.

Grant Howitt  13:30

Those those wonderful, those great, I feel I feel almost like this like the story is too grimy to grow Grammy for your beautiful character. I'd like to ask you that. I'd say someone I'd like to sort of see if I can bring the scales because it seems like we've got quite personal character. Maybe like the scope of the character. The scale of the characters are smaller than I was imagining. I was imagining he was like, sort of leaders in some way. But I'm interested in having it like maybe rather than stealing the entirety of New Providence, it's part of it. So like you've got enough to break off on this. Set up your own

Chris Taylor  14:05

district. Alfie is proud. Yeah, like it's not the whole city. It's just whichever bits he's gotten wise and Coxon.

Grant Howitt  14:13

Because I think like, like we're trying to save our neighborhood by getting off the city to go to somewhere like

Ryan Boelter  14:18

physically break it apart from the main island. I think that sounds particularly erratic. Yeah,

Grant Howitt  14:23

I love it. Yeah, cool. Okay, that gives me kind of more of an understanding of the scale, I think. Okay, so you use pirate gags. So how your adversaries How do you avoid damage? Um,

Ryan Boelter  14:35

I think let's see how do I avoid damage?

Grant Howitt  14:38

I will say as well. Yeah, it can just be that stuff doesn't hurt you that much. Yeah, that in in the eye thing which would knock out several of Chris's teeth. Yeah, and knock him down. It's like, Ah, yeah, it's like the enemy simply doesn't hit

Ryan Boelter  14:51

you that way. Exactly. It's like the the illusion that's around me. That's an actual physical you know, illusion. Has that that bit of padding to in Oh,

Grant Howitt  15:03

warfare is very lost. Your the recover action lets you draw stamina for your character deck to protect yourself against visit damage and when you recover that's you believing real hard?

Unknown Speaker  15:15

Yes, yeah.

Grant Howitt  15:16

Oh you love to see it you love to see? And then finally oh no sir to of course how do you help your allies? What's your what's what's your buff? What's your boost?

Ryan Boelter  15:29

Okay What's my boost for my allies? Um It has to be like, um, you know the power of words I bolstered I bolster their their like inner spirit inner fight of through through my elaborate speeches Mm hmm. Which has like kind of like a slight mystical effect to it. Right? So it's not just me talking words it's me talking words and it literally does something to help see

Grant Howitt  16:02

the hug below.

Ryan Boelter  16:04

Yeah, there's like a metaphysical aspect to it. And but you

Amelia Antrim  16:07

have to Talk Like a Pirate.

Ryan Boelter  16:09

Of course.

Grant Howitt  16:12

Did you learn to fight like this? How did like cuz like, you'll know. Yeah, where did I learn to fight like this? Um, yeah, you self trained to do this magical goal. Don't judge at all. I

Ryan Boelter  16:21

think this is a unique thing. I'm not maybe even to the world, but especially to this island.

Grant Howitt  16:30

Oh, man. I'm gonna put in another magical girl just so you know, there has to be. That's good. That's good. Like one of the villains is gonna be a magical girl. Yeah,

Ryan Boelter  16:36

exactly. So I think I'm the only one right now was it was it was it dreams where you learn to fight like this? I want to say it was something that elfi had found. Okay. And I had helped maybe the right person at the right time as myself and got into like, deep into elfis nonsense. And for some reason, this called to me but didn't call to anybody else. And then I figured, okay, elfi can the seemed important Can I examine to see what's going on with it and then learn from that.

Grant Howitt  17:19

You have to import it into a plastic bag. Took sure I need send in so much.

Chris Taylor  17:27

Better stories and elfi chemical testing on kids.

Grant Howitt  17:33

What's the power you're choosing? You got five to pick from? Oh, boy.

Ryan Boelter  17:38

Let's see. Let's see combat medic guardian angel. That sounds interesting. On your feet.

Grant Howitt  17:46

Yeah. On your feet gives you constant low level healing. Yeah. And combat medic gives you big, single action healing. Okay. And then martyr lets you get stumped. But it's a good thing. Yeah, it's

Chris Taylor  18:03

a it's a great stabbing. Huh?

Ryan Boelter  18:06

Oh, interesting. I like we stand together probably

Grant Howitt  18:11

feels quite magical. Yeah,

Amelia Antrim  18:13

I don't know what it does. But the name of it is.

Grant Howitt  18:17

Basically, it means that you each generate a separate stamina track, which everyone can access from as long as they're in the same area as you.

Amelia Antrim  18:24

Oh, yeah. So

Chris Taylor  18:25

we have a shake. We have a shared hit point pool in the middle of the table because of that.

Grant Howitt  18:29

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Nothing. Okay. Brilliant. There's finally. Amelia what you play.

Amelia Antrim  18:37

I'm doing striker.

Grant Howitt  18:39

Okay. Tell us about you.

Amelia Antrim  18:41

Um, I do have a sword. Yeah, I want to Katana. I just I'm gonna be

Amelia Antrim  18:52

because I I mean, I want to just like, run in murder things and run back out. To do exactly.

Unknown Speaker  19:02

What's on robots?

Ryan Boelter  19:04

Yeah. Gotta be CRT based, right.

Unknown Speaker  19:09

So heavy

Chris Taylor  19:10

demo heroes where he's got that kind of like lightsaber the

Unknown Speaker  19:14

fluorescent

Unknown Speaker  19:16

tube?

Amelia Antrim  19:20

Um, yeah, I mean, like, I mean, we it could be a laser Katana. Why not? I

Grant Howitt  19:24

would look pretty cool if you're like charging up a fluorescent tube light in the dark of a ship.

Unknown Speaker  19:29

Oh, yeah, you're right. And it's like,

Grant Howitt  19:31

okay, it's enough to go through robots.

Amelia Antrim  19:33

Yeah. I mean, did yeah. But I'm also picturing it's like, I mean, with this level of technology. It's like what an incandescent bulb, right?

Grant Howitt  19:42

Like was it looks like an incandescent bulb, but also it cuts up robots.

Unknown Speaker  19:45

Okay.

Grant Howitt  19:47

All right. Like, did you build it yourself? Are you your whiz kid? Or like, do you have someone who builds the stuff for you? Did you steal it?

Amelia Antrim  19:53

Oh, I mean, I feel like I have to have stolen it. I don't think that I could make this kind

Grant Howitt  19:58

of like a kind of like having it Kirk to look like someone who's competent in technology like to come up and so that we can have scenes that rather than rather than Chris's going to break it, and that's

Amelia Antrim  20:08

true and magic. Yeah, you're right. Okay, sure. Sure. I have built this weird incandescent bulb Katana.

Unknown Speaker  20:16

Oh, both Katana just like

Chris Taylor  20:19

a citizen allows down a pole.

Ryan Boelter  20:22

Yes, yeah.

Grant Howitt  20:24

Yeah. Unlike unlike like it's it's it's all held in with glass and then what do you turn it on the glass like shatters but the light the light hangs there Ah the glass

Chris Taylor  20:34

like floats around it like orbits like that's part of the blade.

Ryan Boelter  20:38

Yeah

Chris Taylor  20:40

the glass just snaps back into place like key

Unknown Speaker  20:43

word Yes.

Grant Howitt  20:45

Like falls to the floor they have to replace it. Yes, that's not bad. I think you've got some sort of back pay rate anyway. Yes. So you you you have a call or you have a cool fluorescent Katana? Yep. Man, what power are you going for?

Amelia Antrim  21:05

Um, I want to go with um, momentum.

Grant Howitt  21:11

I think momentum so then of your turn gain temporary stamina equal to the number of wounds you inflict in that turn. Okay, cool. That works as a way of giving you sort of tanky stuff. It means you'll get hurt less.

Amelia Antrim  21:26

Yes,

Grant Howitt  21:27

certainly. So what how do you avoid damage?

Amelia Antrim  21:31

Um, I mean, I think it's, it's just like quickness? Like, go in. Do you need to do run back out? Like it's not? It's by not staying there very long.

Grant Howitt  21:42

You're already gone. Right? And I imagine like I mentioned, like stamina damage for you would be you running away. I didn't like it hits covered near you. And there's like shrapnel going off, right? It's good luck rather than meat.

Amelia Antrim  21:55

Exactly. Lots of strategic dodging.

Grant Howitt  21:59

And why did you learn to fight like this?

Amelia Antrim  22:01

Um, ah, let's say watching old terrible movies.

Ryan Boelter  22:09

Yes. Oh, yeah. Hundred percent.

Grant Howitt  22:14

All right. So all like Star Wars was outlawed in this world. But wasn't what was not outlawed was a series of 19 1970s exploitation Star Wars ripoffs?

Amelia Antrim  22:27

Absolutely,

Grant Howitt  22:28

like really badly put together and like, and like they were so culturally important that like, all the films have someone fighting with a big laser sword, which aren't real. No one actually uses laser saws, they use guns. But I'd like to think

Amelia Antrim  22:43

did use

Grant Howitt  22:46

this kind of a 70s vibe. Yeah. Also like martial arts films as well.

Chris Taylor  22:51

I'm imagining Your room is just like stacks of televisions. They're all on different channels. These old these old play martial arts films and things like that.

Amelia Antrim  23:01

Yes.

Grant Howitt  23:02

Absolutely. Oh, that's the stuff I like that is brilliant. Okay, so we've got a criminal artist, more criminal than artist. We have a, a, an inventor, and, and a an obsessive with the 2017 films of sorry, the 2017 that films that were shot in the 2017 of the martial arts field resurgence, and a magical girl whose Magical Girl powers run off drugs harvested from dreaming magical whales and

Chris Taylor  23:41

becomes a pirate.

Grant Howitt  23:43

I I also i just i i'm not i love the idea that this this became an anime when Ryan's character wrote, and it's like, right didn't notice anatomy. And also like in the in the back of my head. I've kind of got what's actually going on, not through Ryan's characters like Matt Toby snitchin

Chris Taylor  24:07

thing where people are losing teeth. And when somebody gets punched to Ryan's view, like they just slide backwards to the cloud of dust.

Grant Howitt  24:14

Yeah, yeah. Like what what Ryan's character sees different sort of what we describe is is not actually true, but we're describing a fun animate,

Amelia Antrim  24:24

I think that like for the for the rest of us, the world is like this dark and gritty thing. And then Ryan season like lots of bright colors on pastels. That's just totally different.

Grant Howitt  24:36

We, yeah, we've got we've got magical drug addicts, but we're not going to look at it in any way. We're not going to examine the tragedy, there's going to be no

Chris Taylor  24:46

let's not look at the horrors of addiction here. Let's look at the nice set of drugs.

Grant Howitt  24:51

So now we've got all of all of our characters. So today, we're going to do foundations and we need a core foundation for the group, which is so this is kind of like a skill. is something which will help you in dramatic scenes. And this is something which you all share.

Chris Taylor  25:07

And thinking like the name of the bar regulars in that it's descriptive of the sort of people that go to that bar. like everybody's a bit dodgy.

Grant Howitt  25:19

They're all so that's covering, like street street wise

Chris Taylor  25:22

breaking and entering knowing people.

Grant Howitt  25:25

Yeah, but not not necessarily like, oh, we're going to do a full bore. No,

Chris Taylor  25:28

yeah, it's just it's, it's scrappy, rather than military talent.

Grant Howitt  25:36

Yeah, Alfie's regular these regulars. Won't be Alfie's regulars.

Chris Taylor  25:39

He's a regular system better.

Grant Howitt  25:45

alphas are regulars, to Mike and the guy and then I'm going to just come back here and just check what the next step on the on the characterization biters. trains. Yes, it's traits. So, turn. So go ahead and trace a trace on the, the sort of the flare you have on top of your character. I'll read through what traits we have here. For the benefit the listener. There is aura, you manipulate the area around you with magical charisma companion. So you have a big thing or a trusted ally, who fights alongside you, Captain who leads others into battle. A dirty fighter who does whatever it takes to win fire, which is fire. Mighty which is a big weapon or physical, tremendous physical power. Rage, which we described as you can act as a mental state of uncompromising fury, which I like, shadows, powers of darkness in this direction, spirits, you draw strength through the souls of those of souls of those who are formed before you transformation, you have a terrifying second form and the unnatural you've tapped into something aberrant, unsettling. Now, Ryan, I would recommend against transformation, because that happens whenever a fire occurs. Oh, interesting. So like your transformation for you happens before you get into combat. This transform lets you see something which you can flip back and forth between but comes with negatives. Okay. So take a think about what you're interested in. Shouldn't be the character she doesn't. Like

Ryan Boelter  27:20

gave you the option.

Grant Howitt  27:22

It's okay.

Chris Taylor  27:26

I've got mine. Oh, you got I want to take rage. Okay, and specifically, I want to take a reckless you take risks, the others are too smart to even consider. Which is just one of my favorite descriptions. So that lets me use my health to hopefully get a better attack. Hmm.

Grant Howitt  27:47

Yes, that's that suits me. And it has, like, I can feel you almost put this almost being a charismatic thief. But not getting a nominee.

Chris Taylor  27:57

Right. But also being too much of like, like a thrill seeker. And a sort of I reckon I can make it between those two roofs. You don't need to go any other way. Yeah, no, I can

Grant Howitt  28:08

make it. And lately there's a way that a swashbuckler would do it and make it seem like chill. Yeah.

Unknown Speaker  28:13

All

Grant Howitt  28:15

required, but you just have to load of paint. Yeah.

Chris Taylor  28:16

And now I'm trying to jump over race.

Grant Howitt  28:18

brilliantly. I like that. Okay. Now there's. So each trait comes with a choice of questions. So Chris, I'm going to ask you who's most scared of you.

Chris Taylor  28:32

I'm going to say that there is a small, but fairly violent gang that operates in the area that we operate in. And one of the bits of vandalization that I did was to drop one of those CRTs one of the big one, two posters that had my face on it at the time. It was just an drop, it just so smashed on the floor. It went through the ceiling of their hideout that I claimed it was an assassination attempt.

Grant Howitt  29:05

I like the idea that they're like rat themed, like vent named scrappy. Lots of crawling lots of bursting out from walls and grabbing via like that eye protection.

Chris Taylor  29:20

They scared of me, but also they very much want me dead.

Grant Howitt  29:23

Yeah, okay that they have a leader whose name you've not bothered, has no idea. And then for reckless, what's the most trouble you've ever been in? Aside from now?

Ryan Boelter  29:37

Yes.

Chris Taylor  29:39

Immediately after that, I was chased across the rooftops by the police. And it got to the point you don't like it when you've got one person running away from the police. That's not that's not a lot of problems. But then they get in a car and then they start causing car accidents, and then they keep on running and that helicopters are out and it costs more and more money join catches right here. There's just got to be the most ridiculous expensive chase across all of New Providence, like just smashing through nice districts. And they did eventually catch me. And that was the most trouble I've ever been in.

Grant Howitt  30:20

Okay, so like, so have you say you've been sprung from jail? Yes.

Unknown Speaker  30:25

This is not my first time in prison. Sorry, sir.

Grant Howitt  30:28

But like, but like you've been the three of you whispering from jail recently before this happened today? You're on the run rather than Yes. This

Chris Taylor  30:35

is the most trouble from you. And previous to right now, as you said,

Grant Howitt  30:38

gotcha. Okay. I understand that brilliant. So yes, I love data. That's nice. Like, I like data. There's nice districts as well. Just.

Ryan Boelter  30:50

Okay.

Grant Howitt  30:51

Ryan, or Amelia. I mean, it is.

Amelia Antrim  30:52

I'm thinking shadows.

Ryan Boelter  30:55

Mm hmm.

Amelia Antrim  30:55

Even though I have a light works,

Grant Howitt  30:57

I can definitely see that. What because I mean, will you make shadows? Right. Okay. And which, which ability?

Amelia Antrim  31:05

I'm thinking ambush makes the most sense.

Grant Howitt  31:08

Yeah. As you turn the light off,

Amelia Antrim  31:11

right. So I like the idea of being like, crouched somewhere like on the corner of a roof. And then all of a sudden, turn on your light up sword and like, jump down. And here's the thing I have zero familiarity with anime. days, right? Yeah.

Unknown Speaker  31:32

All right.

Grant Howitt  31:33

Good night. Now we are gonna have giant robots. So the robots we've got a normal sized and also someone's gonna have to be a transfer student that causes problems that then you score. A plot. Okay? Okay. So ambush. Okay, I like that. So, answer this question. Why do you fear the light?

Amelia Antrim  31:54

Ah, because it's more dangerous. They can see me, right? obvious.

Grant Howitt  32:01

So like there's there's a desire not to be seen by anyone.

Amelia Antrim  32:05

Well, they can't put your face on a wanted poster if they never see you. True. True.

Grant Howitt  32:10

Okay. And for ambush. What's the most interesting thing you've seen whilst hiding?

Amelia Antrim  32:16

Ah,

Grant Howitt  32:18

hmm. I kind of want I think maybe the most interesting thing you've seen was hiding was the magical girl transformation. And now maybe you could have one. Oh, your character or could you be? Could you try? Not no magical girl but like a kung fu. artist? Yes. Through this dream drug? Oh. Or is that too high concept? Ah,

Amelia Antrim  32:42

I don't know. I feel like more than one magical girl might be too much.

Grant Howitt  32:46

That'd be the culmination of the campaign. I figures everyone but great magical girl. The same girl like the end of Akira.

Amelia Antrim  32:55

I think that it has something to do with these robots.

Unknown Speaker  32:59

Um, okay.

Amelia Antrim  33:02

I think there's some key to like, how they're programmed or how they work that I have seen that nobody else has.

Grant Howitt  33:08

Are they are they like, all the braids?

Amelia Antrim  33:11

how their wound?

Grant Howitt  33:15

Dog secret or something? You know? I don't want the rebels. People because I want you to go and kill robots. And that's fun. Right? Totally. But like maybe like the AI's are from people who've been like, who've been siphoned off? Or like, like the mines have been stolen? Or there's, there's often bones and I'm, like, I want something like that. Rather than just sort of an advantage. I want like, I

Amelia Antrim  33:40

think I think there's some kind of like, like energy source that comes from people that they have, like the people that have been put in prison, um, sort of have their like, energy, stolen, perfect and put into these robots. So that's how they keep all of the people subdued, too. Right? So

Chris Taylor  33:58

yeah, you've got you've got the kind of the Leviathan blows what powers cities but you get a knockoff version with people. Right? It's not great, but it will do in a pinch.

Unknown Speaker  34:08

you inject

Chris Taylor  34:12

a bit of the lines and blood, and then that

Unknown Speaker  34:14

Oh, and then and then some people rejected something

Chris Taylor  34:16

rejected, but some people then that like, becomes what they start generating. Ah,

Grant Howitt  34:22

Ryan, can we quickly redesign your character? Really? So she was injected with Leviathan blood? And then this happened?

Ryan Boelter  34:29

Oh, I like that. Rather than Yeah,

Unknown Speaker  34:31

having constant drug use? Yes,

Ryan Boelter  34:33

yes. Yeah, like that a lot.

Grant Howitt  34:35

Yeah. And that lets you have the capacity to just drink like a gallon of of open blood on the phone.

Amelia Antrim  34:42

Mm hmm.

Grant Howitt  34:43

Okay, yeah, I

Ryan Boelter  34:44

like that. That's fun. And now we're back into metrical girl territory, because the siphoning of energy from human beings is 100% under that wheelhouse.

Grant Howitt  34:56

Excellent. Yeah, okay. And so what you've used you've discovered this Amelie is discovered this dark secret behind behind the market says the universe This is all we know the universe. Yep, cool. Okay, right.

Ryan Boelter  35:11

Yeah, you got a full aura. Maura, okay. Yeah, I was. I was toying with the idea of going with the unnatural. I think I'll be pretty cool would be pretty cool, but pretty cool. Oh, I just can't. Because I could have like tentacles like writhing under my skin or other other weirdness. To you. It looks great. I mean, fair.

Grant Howitt  35:40

It's like the tentacles of bows on and the stuff I will say as well. The advanced version, the parasitic In addition, the first time you die, you do not die.

Ryan Boelter  35:49

Whoo.

Grant Howitt  35:51

You simply pee pate forming a horrendous cocoon and at the end of the scene, and you better totally you steps out from a hole in your distended chest cavity. Oh,

Ryan Boelter  35:59

that's horrifying.

Chris Taylor  36:03

To see the groundwork laid for heart there.

Ryan Boelter  36:06

Yeah. Oh, my goodness. Yeah.

Grant Howitt  36:10

So look, okay, like the unnatural is very much so taking us into a different kind of animal. But it still lets you do magical girl. And I quite like the idea of you being the sort of happy smiley sort of like pretty happy go lucky girl who does this magical girl transformation. And it's just a nightmare. It's like this roiling pillar of hate. Uh, huh. was a pirate? badger?

Ryan Boelter  36:33

I do kinda.

Grant Howitt  36:34

Yeah. Yeah. Sorry for the pirate hat. Yeah, of course.

Ryan Boelter  36:36

Yeah. It's definitely like a, you know, very old school like flashy pirate.

Grant Howitt  36:43

Okay, in which case then maybe not.

Chris Taylor  36:49

Yours, your dream magical.

Grant Howitt  36:54

So what sort of war are you thinking?

Ryan Boelter  36:55

I was thinking or of the Bulwark? Mm hmm. Okay. Um, so it's me inflict half damage from shoot actions that enter our area. As long as I stay within that area.

Chris Taylor  37:08

I like the idea that you're pairing them with the Cutlass

Ryan Boelter  37:11

that end my cotton scarf? Yes. Yeah, I can just like scarfs whipping around and blocking

Grant Howitt  37:18

your lips and stuff that are coming in. And it's like, it's sort of like it's it's spiraling around and like in the globe shape around everyone?

Chris Taylor  37:25

said the ribbon gymnastics.

Ryan Boelter  37:27

Yep. Yeah, yes. It's pretty much like.

Amelia Antrim  37:32

Like, it's it's. Yes.

Unknown Speaker  37:35

Yep. Brilliant.

Amelia Antrim  37:38

But pirates.

Unknown Speaker  37:40

That's how you know weird.

Amelia Antrim  37:41

50 space. Yeah.

Ryan Boelter  37:43

We'll just call it pirate gymnastics. gymnastics, right? He's

Grant Howitt  37:48

scared of what you can do.

Ryan Boelter  37:50

Oh, gosh. Um, so is it?

Grant Howitt  37:54

Is it your mum or your older sister?

Ryan Boelter  37:56

Um, I'm gonna say who is scared? Yeah, it's it's got to be like a close family member. A twin twins twin sister.

Amelia Antrim  38:08

A twin. That was the only thing

Chris Taylor  38:13

we should push for that. Twins.

Grant Howitt  38:18

character doesn't have a twin The game is like that. And she'd ever got the magical girl powers. Or did she? But she never got the magical girls. She got a job in the corporation. Yeah.

Ryan Boelter  38:33

Oh, what if it's what if it is genetic to that interaction?

Grant Howitt  38:45

I've just found a place to put all of my weird dreams.

Chris Taylor  38:52

parasitic.

Grant Howitt  38:55

Oh, that's amazing. Yeah. And our eyes rolling back in and I've unlocked the true power of five and blood. That's brilliant. The for the question for the boardwalk is you protected someone not too long ago and then an unexpected ally?

Ryan Boelter  39:10

Who can be somebody? Oh, it's got to be like, either one of the handlers or somebody somebody in the corporation itself that's like, was fairly loyal to the corporation. Nice. And, and maybe maybe I protected them when things went south at one point. And I didn't think that they would be an ally. I thought they were always going to be an enemy and by protecting them showed them that you know, we can be we can have their back more than the corporation can. Yeah,

Grant Howitt  39:53

I like that. That seems so we could bring it in the second act.

Grant Howitt  40:01

I like they do that they are a like a, like a robot maintenance person. Yeah. Rather than like somebody sent them into battle or have you as someone who repairs them and talks to them sort of understands more behind them. And that gives us an interesting and

Unknown Speaker  40:14

yeah, I think that works sort of human face. Mm hmm.

Grant Howitt  40:17

Yeah. And their name is Chris, I want to name like the serene,

Chris Taylor  40:23

masculine or feminine.

Unknown Speaker  40:25

Right. So let's,

Ryan Boelter  40:27

let's go with feminine.

Unknown Speaker  40:30

This is a reoccurring

Ryan Boelter  40:34

issue related to the word or the farming woman.

Grant Howitt  40:39

It might as well Catherine brochettes, capital boorishness, Catherine breccias. I like to think that she has to be married to possibly work shifts cookie cutter that Chris so we've got we've got we've got a bit of a broader understanding about our character now there's some sort of insidious corporate plot to inject prisoners with the biofin blood to siphon power from them and your your slap bang in the middle of it, but never mind about that. You're gonna you're gonna detonate the pub you basically live in, I'd write it to a new part of the world attached to a different boat, or maybe a floats your rig or a space elevator, what have you. That's all great. Yeah, now we're going to do we're going to create foundations. So the foundations are kind of like skills, or backgrounds or proficiencies, the things which things which make you you other than your role and your trait and that sort of thing. Okay, so we've already come up already come up with one, which is alpha Regulus. For fear overall group, what we're going to do is we're going to come up with one for our own character, and then the group comes up with the second one for each character. So you lose a little bit of control over who you are and where you're from. These you don't have to explain these right away enough to make a lot of sense. Like if you want to have if you want to have some weird non sequitur or hint at something that's more important coming later on, put it in one of these then we can explore three play. Okay.

Chris Taylor  42:10

Okay, so I'd like to do a fairly obvious one. But I'd like to get caught breaking something big and obvious.

Grant Howitt  42:19

These are foundations that fights Oh, yes. That's Yeah, sorry. I got confused as what we're doing but I mean, that that high on ya know,

Chris Taylor  42:28

doTERRA like that. foundations. Yeah.

Grant Howitt  42:31

The artist thing works.

Chris Taylor  42:34

Yeah, rough and tumble artist.

Unknown Speaker  42:37

Yeah. Okay.

Chris Taylor  42:38

I like rough and tumble artists. That's a great foundation. Yeah. So it's, it's the fact that like, he's constantly covered in bandages and plasters. Like he's fairly tough. So it will cover skills like endurance and climbing especially, but also and creation of things as well as his actual class skills being breaking stuff.

Grant Howitt  43:04

I've got an idea for you for your other one.

Ryan Boelter  43:08

Bronze,

Grant Howitt  43:08

cuz like I have a goal to do a lot cheaper. Yeah, don't try so. But I like I like the fact that your characters like almost struggling with his good night. Yeah. Okay. Because unlike unlike the magical girl is really sort of providing a nice sort of camp.

Chris Taylor  43:26

That I think now that works for me. So hard bronze and rough and tumble artist.

Unknown Speaker  43:31

Lovely.

Ryan Boelter  43:34

Amelia,

Amelia Antrim  43:36

I feel like I want one of them to be. That's not how it worked in the movie. Which is just like the first several times I try things. Um, it should just happen because I saw it happen.

Unknown Speaker  43:52

And it doesn't so I think doesn't go

Grant Howitt  43:54

like that. Like, it's it should be a strength of some kind. Okay, but like, we can.

Amelia Antrim  44:03

Yeah, I mean, I think it like things work, but they're just a little bit messier. I'm like, it's not as like, okay, yeah. Like,

Chris Taylor  44:15

how about like, rather than that's not how I do it. That's how it worked in films. Yeah. So television by hitting the top of it.

Unknown Speaker  44:24

Yes. something yummy. Like,

Chris Taylor  44:26

like, last 10 minutes. That is going to explode. Right? Yeah. But like, all you need is a hairpin you can unlock a door.

Unknown Speaker  44:34

Mm hmm.

Chris Taylor  44:35

You don't understand how locks work. You don't know what's inside one necessarily. But if you put it up in

Amelia Antrim  44:42

there, like ultimately, it's not a skill. It's not repeatable at one time. Like Yeah,

Chris Taylor  44:46

it works temporary. It's a bad solution. But it does. Yeah,

Unknown Speaker  44:51

that's nice. Yeah,

Amelia Antrim  44:53

I like it.

Grant Howitt  44:55

I think I wonder if the kung fu the second one maybe maybe not kung fu because it's is a sword fighting? We thank you for the second one.

Unknown Speaker  45:03

Yeah,

Chris Taylor  45:04

I'm thinking like, a code of honor type thing. Because that's like, that's a big part of martial arts movies.

Unknown Speaker  45:14

bolshie.

Chris Taylor  45:17

But like, it's this, I can think of a pity way of wording it but like, people trust you because they know you live by a code. Okay, they might not know what the code is but like, it's like not understanding samurais code but going yeah, let them in to be alright. Are they good? You know? Yes. Yeah. respectable?

Ryan Boelter  45:42

Yeah. Okay. I

Grant Howitt  45:42

like that, like warriors, warriors code.

Chris Taylor  45:45

Yeah, you can make up what the code is at the moment. Yeah.

Grant Howitt  45:50

More is code despite the fact that you your main fighting style is jumping off a balcony and hitting someone with a light.

Ryan Boelter  45:58

Alright, I like that. Brian. Um, when it comes to clothing physics doesn't apply.

Grant Howitt  46:05

As we talk in boot socks, are we talking like, your dress is always perfect despite them? Yeah,

Ryan Boelter  46:10

it's like, it's like I was perfect or blowing in the wind dramatically if needed. Or like I can even when there's no one like my, my scarf can be used as like a like, like a solid chain or like, maybe I can even take one of my pieces of clothing and like, like, flick of the wrist. Turn it into a sword. Yes.

Chris Taylor  46:31

You can like claim your scarf. you'd use like a grappling hook and things like that.

Grant Howitt  46:37

Yeah, okay. Yeah. Magical girls clothing. What's your girl's clothing department? unlimited wardrobe.

Ryan Boelter  46:45

Yes.

Unknown Speaker  46:46

Mm hmm.

Chris Taylor  46:47

I think that for the other one. I'm thinking. Leviathan field ship's captain. ship's captain. Pirate pilot. Hmm.

Grant Howitt  47:00

Some other maybe? I like the fact that we can sort of explore some other things about the Leviathan blood engines. How are the ship's captain you're not entirely sure the answer to everything is the vibe and plot.

Ryan Boelter  47:13

Oh, that'd be interesting if I have like a connection to that.

Grant Howitt  47:17

Yeah. Yeah. And the fact that you're the driver as well as quite nice no yeah.

Chris Taylor  47:22

That you just like because of that you can pilot anything from like golf carts up to cities.

Ryan Boelter  47:30

I like that.

Grant Howitt  47:32

Fantastic. Next up we movie fates. So as we said earlier, fates are like scenes we'd like to say each player creates a photo of their character and the group creates a fate for each character in a Christian would you get caught stealing something or

Chris Taylor  47:42

somebody caught stealing something nuts things Oh big breaking something. Yeah, so something big and obvious like like a statue of the CEO

Grant Howitt  47:54

corsola is as a GM just a series of delicious jewels.

Unknown Speaker  47:58

You are welcome. You're giving me Yeah.

Ryan Boelter  48:01

Or like the the biggest CRT screen in the city? Yeah, like I'm just constant propaganda.

Amelia Antrim  48:07

Whatever like our time Yeah.

Chris Taylor  48:09

My face over it. Which unfortunately, on every wanted poster that flashes up. It's my face.

Unknown Speaker  48:21

That's sort of just

Amelia Antrim  48:22

the good news is you're a bad nobody actually.

Chris Taylor  48:26

Barring my work Ah, it's the handcuffs get put on.

Grant Howitt  48:38

I think I would like to see your heart of gold challenged I might said let's see. You're like the fact that you're super cool. The fact that you're the sort of devil may care vandal honest, come into question.

Chris Taylor  48:51

Something more concrete.

Grant Howitt  48:53

I want to have someone from your family show up. Okay. Like your older brother comes is like, come on. Come home. We have lawyers.

Chris Taylor  49:03

Yes. Cuz like I was abandoned in the in the bar. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. That's fantastic.

Amelia Antrim  49:09

They come back.

Chris Taylor  49:11

They come back and like, Look, we've been watching you for a while and honestly, you've been mucking about a lot. Now. You've you've got a call for a job waiting for you. You need to come back. Yeah, I

Grant Howitt  49:24

did. That you're like you've got a corporate Yeah, it wasn't

Chris Taylor  49:29

even the idea I have the elfies given me is not only counterfeit button tags. But like no, this is your ID and it's like it's got

Grant Howitt  49:38

so it's like that like this all happened like five years ago. like like like your true identity was revealed to you and you're like No, I don't want to do that. And And so we'd like so your your your mother ropes. carried on a pelican Quinn.

Grant Howitt  50:01

Yeah, okay, cool. Yes.

Chris Taylor  50:02

The fight mommy shows up.

Unknown Speaker  50:06

Mommy arrives.

Grant Howitt  50:08

I get to play, which is my favorite thing to do exactly. A series of delicious jewels. Amelia, what's your fate?

Amelia Antrim  50:16

I mean, I want to have a one on one duel to the death.

Ryan Boelter  50:19

Absolutely. That

Unknown Speaker  50:20

sounds great. I'm drinking

Chris Taylor  50:21

on a rooftop. probably somewhere I call it

Grant Howitt  50:26

precarious, for sure. And on the cable that connects the upper city to the lower city.

Amelia Antrim  50:32

Yeah, like some kind of like, I don't know, moving platform. Massively dangerous. No guardrails?

Grant Howitt  50:38

Absolutely, yeah, death rows.

Chris Taylor  50:39

Well, this is the future. There's no guardrails at all.

Amelia Antrim  50:43

No, no, there is no

Grant Howitt  50:46

reasonable season born to place against guardrails. All that material is just safe enough to have them. Yep.

Amelia Antrim  50:52

Yeah,

Unknown Speaker  50:52

that's what we give you.

Chris Taylor  50:54

I'm, I I'm thinking something about the fact that you don't like the light. And you don't like me taking that as a concept? Like, you start becoming celebrity.

Unknown Speaker  51:07

Oh,

Unknown Speaker  51:08

are you surgery? Yeah, like,

Chris Taylor  51:09

in a sort of getting me pictures of spider man. sort of way like this underground thing. And the papers start picking up and you actually this is a this is a fantastic story and like, like people trying to get your picture all the time. Which is a terrible thing. I'd like

Grant Howitt  51:28

to have like one sexy joke. He's like he's tracking you down and trying to discern try to discover the story of the fluorescent Juve killer.

Unknown Speaker  51:42

terrible name. Journal, so

Grant Howitt  51:44

he didn't pick it. No. All right, cool. That's lovely. Now, Ryan, what's your what's your face?

Ryan Boelter  51:52

Um, I think I want my fate to be. I want to use my power when I'm not transformed. and have it be surprising.

Chris Taylor  52:04

Okay. So like, your power just kicks off?

Ryan Boelter  52:08

Yeah, like, maybe I suppose. Yeah. So like, maybe my my normal clothes like, become a weapon or a shield or something like that. causes problems. Yeah.

Grant Howitt  52:24

Brilliant. I like that. That's fun. And then I got two words for you. It's

Unknown Speaker  52:30

evil to win. Absolutely.

Amelia Antrim  52:32

Right. I mean, I was gonna say,

Grant Howitt  52:34

That's not it. Yeah. And I'd like to mention that your evil twin makes her presence known rather than turns up and does something like there's just like, there's something shimmering in the distance is your evil twin coming? Like a balloon? Yeah, I think. Okay, yeah, that's great. So my next job is my job is to come with the fashions and the twists I'm going to skip to the twist. That's primarily a gameplay mechanic. But I'm going to go for the two factions that will help or hinder the player characters. We've got Alfie is one of the factions I think and the the Gestalt entity known as Alfie.

Chris Taylor  53:17

Alfie has arms in many streets. Absolutely. Like dude, just his arm and just go along a runner and pull open a door that should be locked.

Grant Howitt  53:27

I'd imagine like like he looks by holding

Unknown Speaker  53:30

like a puppet.

Grant Howitt  53:32

Yeah. And then the the other faction is Providence, Inc, but primarily Lister in brooch. The local arm of enforces now we're gonna do final buzzer two more things. First off, we're gonna get scars. So draw a card and tell me what cards you get. And then from that you you generate scars and scars. I think like no one's had a perfect life, especially the characters in this game. So you're going to draw the curve. Tell me what you get. And then I tell you what that relates to gramma page, which is that princess serenity holding the silver Millennium crystal?

Ryan Boelter  54:14

charts. It's not that not what you wanted.

Grant Howitt  54:20

Sorry. No, that's fine. Like a suit.

Ryan Boelter  54:24

Yeah, it's a stick that hurts. Brilliant. Heart. So

Grant Howitt  54:27

hearts is fear, humiliation, social loss, trauma, embarrassment and curses. So if this were a real game, you'd write on the card. Something like some sort of weakness you you have acquired throughout your career. Chris would have six of diamonds. Loss of an important item sensory loss, memory loss or skill loss of favorite.

Chris Taylor  54:50

I'm thinking he's actually vaguely hard of hearing. from years of living in and around engine rooms and I'm always having a pair of headphones on with far too loud music. So like yeah, okay, he's he can still hear people talking but he's not very good at stellar

Grant Howitt  55:10

or high down. Yeah. And like other like, like, like being he gets caught up on a lot.

Unknown Speaker  55:17

Yeah, he gets surprised. Okay,

Unknown Speaker  55:19

Amelia, what about you?

Amelia Antrim  55:21

I got nine of diamonds and

Grant Howitt  55:22

diamonds. Again lots of important items sensory loss memory loss of skill loss.

Amelia Antrim  55:27

Shaping everyone. No, it's

Grant Howitt  55:28

fine. What? What what what did you lose? Hmm. The recipe for like gun?

Amelia Antrim  55:36

I think there is a walk has to match my katana somewhere.

Unknown Speaker  55:40

Somebody else has it has your you're paired.

Unknown Speaker  55:45

Yep. Oh, yeah. Okay,

Grant Howitt  55:46

let's go on like that.

Amelia Antrim  55:47

Probably whoever I end up doing. Um,

Grant Howitt  55:50

oh no, that they're gonna be the focus of a third company.

Ryan Boelter  55:56

So I didn't define mine. My my social loss or whatever. is probably my sister's love.

Unknown Speaker  56:05

Yes.

Unknown Speaker  56:07

Ouch.

Grant Howitt  56:07

We flashback to your seven Christmas. heartbreaking. One of you gets a bike

Chris Taylor  56:14

the other gets. pirate ship.

Grant Howitt  56:21

Final thing we need to do is pick a name.

Unknown Speaker  56:23

Oh, yeah.

Grant Howitt  56:25

Your character is always the hotbed. Oh, so the names we have in this game so far. Providence incorporated elfi leviathans, Lissa and Roche, Catherine brochures and the rust. So that's kind of giving us kind of queer, dank, chewy vibe to the names

Chris Taylor  56:46

and thinking graph. gra FF graph.

Grant Howitt  56:50

II. Yeah, just graph. Yeah. Okay. Unlike unlike unlike Yo, so so there's Providence.

Chris Taylor  56:57

Oh, yeah. What's up? So you know why use that

Grant Howitt  57:00

graph? graph Providence. That's concerning to me. They do. Do you go by the by the vigilante name you wish to us?

Amelia Antrim  57:13

Oh, what's a good What is a good vigilante name for someone with a with a light

Grant Howitt  57:19

is light in Latin.

Amelia Antrim  57:21

luminance is good.

Ryan Boelter  57:22

luminance.

Chris Taylor  57:26

That's your first name. your birth certificate? Yeah.

Grant Howitt  57:30

It's just a coincidence. luminance edge

Unknown Speaker  57:33

luminance edge.

Unknown Speaker  57:36

That's such a terrace.

Unknown Speaker  57:40

That's it.

Ryan Boelter  57:42

Oh, goodness.

Unknown Speaker  57:43

No.

Grant Howitt  57:45

Your first name is so low. You would you say a little boy

Ryan Boelter  57:52

in almost kind of feels like it should be but um,

Unknown Speaker  57:55

there's a boat.

Ryan Boelter  57:57

So what's another word for sky?

Unknown Speaker  58:00

Some

Grant Howitt  58:01

fundament

Chris Taylor  58:03

phones for the days either firmer. dumping

Grant Howitt  58:13

clouds the different layers of the different layers of this guy as well. So there's like the, I mean,

Amelia Antrim  58:18

you could just be like, Oh, we can do like

Ryan Boelter  58:24

a captain strata. Yes.

Grant Howitt  58:29

She's got it because she goes by Captain.

Ryan Boelter  58:31

Captain. Yeah. When she's transformed. Yeah. Oh, there

Unknown Speaker  58:35

we go. Yeah. Okay, Captain.

Unknown Speaker  58:38

starshine.

Ryan Boelter  58:44

Yeah, there we go. That's the stuff.

Amelia Antrim  58:48

Chris. I'm gonna have you on every episode just

Chris Taylor  58:51

a little bit. Thanks for stopping by out we'll be fine.

Ryan Boelter  58:58

So you're suggesting orbit sunshine for my character's actual persona name?

Chris Taylor  59:04

Yeah. Like like just like, like the person they are?

Ryan Boelter  59:07

Yes. So I love how star shine is also my twins surname. Huh, who is also evil. And that makes it wonderful. I love it orbits on sir. My name

Unknown Speaker  59:20

is violence. But violence, violence.

Amelia Antrim  59:32

All right, good. All right,

Grant Howitt  59:35

we're done. That's the correct Oh,

Amelia Antrim  59:36

we did it.

Unknown Speaker  59:37

We done it. Wow.

Unknown Speaker  59:40

Again, I want to play this game.

Unknown Speaker  59:43

I really want to explore

Amelia Antrim  59:47

I mean, all of that out of Skype, prison pirate Corporation.

Grant Howitt  59:53

It's a it's a fun game. It's a fun way of making a

Unknown Speaker  59:58

phenomenon interesting.

Ryan Boelter  59:59

Oh my goodness, I

Amelia Antrim  1:00:01

was so good. Oh,

Ryan Boelter  1:00:03

it's nice.

Chris Taylor  1:00:05

By the way, the questions and it walks you through the steps. But yeah, it's the whole point. Yeah, basically just like, as with all of our games, we put up described, putting a shopping cart at the top of the hill and pushing it and just kind of seeing what happens. And it just builds this momentum, like a snowball just gets bigger and bigger and bigger. And it's always fun to make a game

Unknown Speaker  1:00:25

in ways. Yeah, this

Amelia Antrim  1:00:27

was good. This is really good. Ah, well, thank you so much for joining us for our unbound character creation episodes. Granted, do you want to remind everybody where they can find you online?

Grant Howitt  1:00:40

You can find me at je s how it to HR WITT on Twitter. Or at rd games calm and if you'd like to buy a copy of unbound go to our ib games.com. And there'll be a link somewhere it will be obvious.

Ryan Boelter  1:00:57

There you go. Yeah. And Chris, How about yourself?

Chris Taylor  1:00:59

I'm on Twitter at the Madigan. I think I do not on Twitter a lot. I just thank you. That's what easiest way to contact me.

Unknown Speaker  1:01:13

just just just asked

Grant Howitt  1:01:14

me. Why should it isn't metal filter screws. Yeah. Well,

Amelia Antrim  1:01:20

thank you to both of you for joining us. Thank you to everyone for listening. And please join us next week for our discussion block. character creation is done for our unbound series. We hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. I this went in some very weird direction. And, um, I don't know how we managed to squeeze magical girls in there. Somehow we did it. Yeah, maybe worked. I think

Ryan Boelter  1:01:52

girls were like CRT. lightsabers.

Amelia Antrim  1:01:57

Yes. luminance edge. Oh, God. Oh, gosh, I would like to hire Chris to just do all of our naming.

Ryan Boelter  1:02:08

It would be nice.

Amelia Antrim  1:02:10

Um, I hope that you will join us for our discussion episode where we dive more into the game as well as getting to our fanfic portion of our episode.

Ryan Boelter  1:02:21

Oh, it's a favorite. Oh, yeah. Mm hmm. But before we head out for this episode, we just wanted to say a few things and give you a few reminders. First off a very, very big thank you to everyone in the United States, who actually went out and voted last week or earlier. If our extremely late message came out in time to help just one person Remember to vote? I think that was worthwhile.

Amelia Antrim  1:02:48

I think so. Um, hey, we have a result at the time of recording this or very projected results. Okay, folks, we did it. Um, I'm still like processing. Still, still getting there. But we really have a long road ahead of this still, we need to keep this momentum going. I know that we are all exhausted after the last few years. There's, you know, two years. So we have another midterm election. It's perpetual election season here in the

Ryan Boelter  1:03:27

US, it really is.

Amelia Antrim  1:03:28

But we need to treat every election as important. This, you know, we treated this one like it was a huge deal. But really all of these elections leading up to it matter. And find out when your local governments are having elections. You know, I pointed out last time, like it affects everything like school boards, and you know, whether your kids go back to school, so go to your local government websites, make sure you're registered to vote, register to do mail and voting if you thought that was more convenient, or it's a thing that you're able to do in your, in your state, call your representatives after this election, and let them know what sorts of issues are important to you, and what kinds of things you want to see. Because this is not done. You can't just show up for four years. I mean, can but please don't just show up every four years. There's there's a lot that still needs to be done.

Ryan Boelter  1:04:23

Yeah, there. There definitely is a lot we can do. For sure. I know the last four years has been extremely rough for a lot of folks. But of course me being me there. There is a silver lining to it. Um, it feels like there there was like this fiery passion that was lit under a lot of people's feet to actually pay attention to politics.

Amelia Antrim  1:04:48

Yeah, it feels like we had a realization as a nation of like, how big of a deal some of this stuff

Ryan Boelter  1:04:53

Yeah. At once 2016 came and passed and I Everything that happened since then. It was a it was a wake up call. And I think if if we stay educated on the issues as as a people, and if we if we vote in every election, especially the local ones, and and get educated about who is running for local offices, because everything kind of works its way up from there. I just keep at it every election, especially every two years. Yeah, they're so very important.

Amelia Antrim  1:05:37

Yeah, absolutely. I think that now we've all had like, a little bit of a breath of fresh air. At this point, I feel like a little bit rejuvenated and a little less beaten down. So hopefully, that's, that gives you a little boost that you need to keep going. Absolutely. Um, for those of you who are not in the US. Thank you for putting up with us talking about all of this. Our, you know, we don't know what your election cycles are. Like, I know that in other places, they're not this bananas, they don't go on for a year and a half. You know, we have an election, we have six months. Oh, like a transition of power. And then we start again. Yep. Um, but also, you know, go vote whenever you can. The world feels like it's changing. It's, you know, it's going in weird directions. Um, it's an internal Tuesday. I don't know when your elections are held, but ours are on Tuesdays. You have the power to make things change, and, and to really affect those things. So please, please do whatever you can in your own country, too. Mm hmm.

Ryan Boelter  1:06:47

Absolutely. Now, having said all of that, we do still have a couple reminders. So thank you for sticking with us. First of all, please join me this Friday at 7:30pm Central Time to catch the very first session of my brand new campaign using the premier RPG system. It's called a tale of twinkle and ah, and we're playing a collaboratively built solar punk world that is blending magical girls superheroes and fantasy genres together. You can find us at twitch Comerica games every other Friday.

Amelia Antrim  1:07:22

Finally, we are still out of reviews. Yeah, well actually, you know, before I say that, also a reminder that we are going to come looking to commission some art. So if you are an artist, please reach out. You can contact us through our website through Twitter or by email. But also, we are still out of reviews. So if you could do us a huge favor and send in another review through Apple podcasts, pod chaser Stitcher, any other number of podcast services. I think I said last time, you can write it on a post it note and send us a picture. Obviously that doesn't help our ratings as much as some of the other ways but you know what, we will still read it. This year's it's been rough. And all of your reviews have brought a nice little bit of joy to both of us. We love reading them out on the air. And like I said it does help us in the rankings and help new listeners find us.

Ryan Boelter  1:08:22

Absolutely. For now. Stay tuned next week for the exciting conclusion to our on bound series. And until then take care of yourselves. Take care of each other and keep making those amazing people. Have a good week everyone.

Amelia Antrim  1:08:36

Have a good week. Bye.
